Colour temperature is a numeral quantity representing the colour appearance of a light source.  It’s an important performance characteristic to access when evaluating lamps because a lamp’s chromaticity creates the mood of the space you are lighting and can thus influence buying behavior or work performance. 

Comparison of natural and artificial light Source.
Imagine natural light from the Sun, soon after rising temperature of light colour becomes reddish is similar to light colour Temperature 2700 Kelvin or K (Warm Light).

When the Sun goes up during daytime, colour temperature increases the light colour becomes bluish, producing refreshingly light like a clear sunny day which is comparable to colour temperature 6400K (Day Light). 

Day Light (6400K) makes feel refreshed and gives a new life to the colour specially white, creates dynamism, vitality and freshness while enhancing all other colours.
